Step2: After selecting your MP4 file, you need to select your output format, click the drop-down list as follow:

After clicking 'Ok', a 'Splitting video' panel will pop up at once. The 'Splitting video' area allow you convert part of a mp4 file to an avi file. You can split the file by time.
You can preview your selected file by click 'Preview' button and estimate the time-range of the video you want to convert. Then enter the start time and the end time to the time box behind to set the clips you want to convert.
Then click 'OK' to complete the conversion task add. The default setting is full in length.
Now you can see the task list and add/modify/remove from the queue. Don't forget to setup the Output Folder.
You can schedule to shut down your computer after all conversion is finished, or even you can setup the shut-down at any time after conversion is started. It wouldn't cause damage to your conversion process.
Step4: After you finish all the above steps, click 'Convert Now' button to begin the real work. A processing bar can monitor the working status and total progress.
A dialog will pop up to help you open the Output Folder after conversion finished.
